Red Lotus Sea (Nong Han Kumphawapi Lake) - Udon Thani Nong Han Lake is about fifty kilometers away from Udon Thani. it is a beautiful place to sail from December to March when it is covered with pink lotus flowers. An amazing spectacle that Thai people call Talay Buadaeng (the Red Lotus Sea). Flowering begins in October, but to be sure to see a lot of lotus flowers, we suggest you to wait until November knowing that it is usually in December that the lake is completely covered with flowers. The best moment of the day to see the lotus is between 6 am and 11 am. The rest of the year, the Nong Han Kumphawapi Lake is certainly less interesting but still a fishy place with fishermen and a wide variety of birds and water plants.
